French Cider

The Village of Clos de la Fontaine Hugo

French Cider from deep in the Countryside of Picardie produced on the Farm of Madame Agnes Turck.
The Turck Family from the region of Thiérache in Picardie have been making Cider by traditional methods for generations, from apples grown in their own Orchards and from other selected Orchards of the Thiérache region.

Their Ciders when tasted, have a hint of red berries, aniseed, honey and hazelnuts, reflecting the excellent quality of Apples used in the fermentation.

A new addtion to our French Cider range is a Normandy Cider. Made by Jerome Forget (that's Forjay) in the south of the region with produce from his own orchard. As with Clos de la fontaine Hugo, it's a light, refreshing drink and perfect for all occasions.

Jerome Forget Dry Sparkling Cider

The logo of Clos de la Fontaine Hugo

A further testimony to the excellence of the Clos de la Fontaine Hugo Ciders are the annual awards that they have collected since 1995.
To fully appreciate the aromas and flavours of the Cider, it should always be served cold, between 6° and 8° C. The Dry and Medium Ciders have an alcohol content of 5% abv.
As well as being a refreshing drink the Cider can be served to compliment many foods, a platter of meats, the regional "Tarte au Maroilles"  (a wonderfully pungent Cheese tart), with Pork or Rabbit Dishes or with deserts such as Crepes or Pastries.
The Champagne style bottles of the Cider once opened, will retain their "fizz" for around 2 days if resealed, that is if you can resist drinking it !
